This series consists of notebooks used by Justice Sir Owen Dixon during cases heard in courts throughout Australia.
The notebooks are small 'exercise' books, each with consecutively numbered pages, some with alphabetical indexes at the front. Those notebooks without indexes incorporated in them have a hand written index at the front. These indexes referred to a particular case by the surname of either the plaintiff or defendant and include the page number in the notebook where the notes to the case were written.
The series is incomplete with volumes 2-7, 12-14, 16-18 and 20-28 missing at the time the series was registered.
There are no references made to the case number, only the names of the plaintiff and defendant, so it may be necessary to peruse either the Victorian Full Court Book (A10220), the New South Wales Full Court Book (A10232), the South Australian Full Court Book (A10149), the Western Australian Full Court Book (A10080), the Queensland Full Court Book (A10041) or the Tasmanian Full Court Book (A10143) around the date/s of the notebook entry to verify the case number searching for the records of the case. |
