FUNCTION AND CONTENT

This series consists of files relating to cases of appeal against the Commonwealth Land Tax Assessment Act of 1910 heard by the High Court of Australia, Tasmania Registry. The files contain copies of the case, orders, determinations and opinions.

SERIES HISTORY

Custodial History

These records were originally deposited with the Archives Office of Tasmania (AoT) by the Supreme Court on 15 November 1962.  The records were transferred to Commonwealth custody at Australian Archives, Tasmanian Office in 1988 and were subsequently withdrawn by the High Court in June 1996 with the concurrence of the Australian Archives National Office and forwarded to the Principal Registry in the Canberra.

There are only four files extant in this series.
