This accession series consists of Customs and Excise file movement, index cards created by the Correspondence, Records and Typing section, Customs and Excise, Office of the Collector of Customs, Victoria. Both sides of the card are divided into columns giving the consecutive file number, author or 'writer' of the correspondence, 'subject', and a record of file 'movements'. Where applicable a 'D' is written in red pen indicating that the file has been destroyed. In some cases, annotations relating to top-numbering and related files have also been added. Although the documentation accompanying the transfer in 1967 indicate that the first file number was 1958/301 an annotation on the first index card states that files '301 - 310' were 'destroyed' so it appears the index card was also as the cards commence at 1958/311. The correspondence file series to which these cards relate is Commonwealth Record Series (CRS) B13.
