These records consist of standard size files which deal with correspondence on organisation functions and staffing positions. They contain documents such as reports, letters, duty statements, organisation charts and information material.
These records were created by Establishment and Manpower Planning Section, Personnel and Establishments, when they required their own records. This series was terminated in 1988 as a result of decentralisation when the records were converted to a computerised Registry System (IRIS). The files have continued into series A446.
The records are in single number order and are controlled by index cards. The location of the index cards is unknown and it is thought that they may have been destroyed without reference to Registry.
The records are kept in pale blue file covers to start with, but some of the later files are in pink file covers. Various details appear on the file cover, with the prefix "O" standing for organisation.
