These files relate to the corporation's functions of the promotion and sale of Australian wine and brandy, both in Australia and overseas. The corporation also helps supervise the export of these products. The correspondence is maintained in manilla folders showing the subject matter and file number on the front cover.

This series ran concurrently with series D1014, an annual single number series, from 1975. D1014 was originally intended to replace this series but was eventually terminated in 1983.

D1013 was transferred from South Australia to the ACT in November 2021.
