Function and purpose
This series contains four leather-bound volumes and contains basic pay details for members of the New South Wales Military Forces who served in the Boer War.
There are two entries to each page. Each entry details regimental number, rank, name, date, payment and a remarks column with bank or next of kin listed. There is a partial index in the front of volume 1 and several loose notes are interleaved in the volume.
The indexes to volumes 2, 3 and 4 are contained in a separate series.
Loose notes taken from volume 4 are contained in a separate acid free folder. The folder is marked as an attachment to volume 4.
In 1989, this series has been copied in full by the Australian Archives as part of its reprographic program.
In 2017, the microfilm copy of this series was digitized and uploaded to National Archives of Australia RecordSearch database. The digital image can be viewed by clicking the RecordSearch 'Digital item" icon.
