THE DEPARTMENT OF INFRASTRUCTURE, TRANSPORT, REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT AND COMMUNICATIONS

Creation

The Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Communications was established under the Machinery of Government Change effective from 1 February 2020 after new Administrative Arrangement Orders were signed by the Governor General, David Hurley. The new department took over the responsibilities of the previous Department of Communications and the Arts [II] (CA 9552).

Abolition

The Department was abolished by the Administrative Arrangement Orders coming into force on the 1st July 2022. All functions were transferred to the new Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development, Communications and the Arts (CA 9644).
