Abolition
The Australian Forestry Council was established in 1965 to promote the development of Australian forestry, formulate a forestry policy to meet national requirements for forest products, and coordinate related research. It was amalgamated with the Australian and New Zealand Fisheries and Aquaculture Council on 1 January 1994 to form the Ministerial Council on Forestry, Fisheries and Aquaculture.
