The Army Working Group was associated with the ANZUK Planning Group established to develop the joint ANZUK command when FARELF was disbanded. The Army Working Group was concerned with planning the logistic arrangements for the ANZUK Force and consisted of the following working parties:
a) Supplies and Transport
- Supplies
- POL
- Transport and Aerial Delivery
- Postal
b) Ordnance
c) Repair and Recovery
d) Engineer Store
e) Medical and Dental Stores
f) Fire Services
g) Civil Labour
h) Canteens
i) HQ ANZUK Support Group
j) Garrison Staffs
k) Base Logistic Ordnance
l) 2nd line Logistic Ordnance and
m) Survey.
The files of the Army Working Group contain the reports of each of the working parties outlined above. In addition there are files which provide details of the terms of reference under which the Army Working Group was constituted, the organization of the various elements of ANZUK Working Group, and the details of the various working parties, including the working files of the working parties.
These files form an essential link between the FARELF administration and the administration of the ANZUK Joint Command. All of the files have an "AWG" prefix with some files then having the letter "L" as part of the registry number and others having the term LOGS (ie Logistics).
