Series note
This series consists of folders of general correspondence, decisions and policy relating to organisations interested in the migration of British  subjects, nominations, training schemes, housing difficulties, statistical aspects of future population and individual case files. This series represents one of seven classes of correspondence files maintained by the Department of Immigration and its predecessors during the years 1939 to 1950, or for a portion of those years. The seven classes are as follows: (1) General, passports; (2) Restricted immigration; (3) European migrants; (4) Naturalization, (5) British migrants; (6) Aliens registration; (7) General administration.
