This series consists of the papers created by the Senate Select Committee on Off-Shore Petroleum. The Committee was formed to investigate and report on legislation relating to the exploration for, and exploitation of, the petroleum resources of the continental shelf of Australia and of certain Territories of the Commonwealth and of certain other submerged land. It heard evidence from 84 witnesses from government, industry and the scientific community.
This series contains minutes of evidence, correspondence, press releases, exploration permits and copies of the interim and final reports. The files are arranged in an annual single number system with an "OSP" [Off-Shore Petroleum] prefix. The final file, OSP 59, contains confidential material.Quantity in agency custody
