Physical

This
series is comprised of paper files and documents.
System of
arrangement and control
Annual
single number system with ‘G’ prefix.
Files
were originally labelled with a ‘G’ prefix (which was used to indicate these
were administrative files), followed by a unique file number and a truncated
version of the year in which they were created. For example, a file title was
G2904/24. From 1935 onwards the year was shown first – G35/119.
To
reflect the original paper listing and to facilitate searches all item titles
on RecordSearch have been amended and are now in a
consistent format: ‘G’ prefix followed by file number then the year it was
created in full, hence G2904/24 is G2904/1924 and G35/119 (G1935/119) is
G119/1935.
