Function and purpose
This series is comprised of folders of cabinet decisions collected and maintained by Mr Durack during his term as Attorney General. More information about Cabinet decisions can be accessed in the series registration for CRS A12908 and CRS A12909, which comprise the comprehensive record of Cabinet Decisions for the Fraser Ministries.

System of arrangement and control
The records are arranged by date of decision in chronological order and grouped into year. The set of decisions is incomplete and consists of the Attorney General’s copies only. Some of the decisions have been annotated by Mr Durack. The decisions are generally single printed A4 sheets of paper and have a standard format. Each decision shows place and date of meeting, decision number, submission number, submission title and the decision of the Cabinet. Each is signed as a true copy by the Secretary to Cabinet. Each decision copy is numbered and the number reflects the Minister’s position in Cabinet. Mr Durack generally received copy numbers 14 to 16.
The records have been placed in acid free folders by the National Archives, maintaining as much as possible their original order in year by year groupings.

Series history
Transfer Job Number 2006/00175001 that was originally located in NAA Perth was targeted in 2016/17 for relocation to the National Archives Preservation Facility (NAPF), Mitchell. Containers left NAA Perth premises on 14 June 2017.
