Function and purpose
The series comprises 950 kalamazoo folders arranged in lexicographical order in three runs, viz; SA Enlistments 1939-1946, NT Enlistments 1939-1946, and SA/NT Enlistments 1946-1956. Each entry gives basic details of soldier including; full name, date of enlistment and army number, date of embarkation, unit, change of number (eg, if a member changed from the CMF to the AIF), sometimes date of discharge, change of name (eg for newly married female members). The series has been microfilmed.

Using the series
In 2017, the reference microfilm of this series was digitised and uploaded to National Archives RecordSearch database. The range of the subjects is noted on the item registration for each roll of film. The digital image can be viewed by clicking on the "Digitised item' icon in the item registrations in RecordSearch. Note that at the time of digitisation of the microfilm ROLL 4 was 'missing'.
