These files document financial assistance provided by the Welfare Branch, they are a continuation of the previous series of finance files, CRS A4578 Finance file single number series with 'F' (Finance) prefix and year suffix, 1968-1974. In 1975 Welfare Branch introduced an annual single number system witha 'WF' (Welfare Finance) prefix for the finance files.
 Material on the files includes some casework material, however, the bulk of the files contents are finance forms - social welfare benefits assessment forms, carbon copies of forms 12, legal aid reports, lists of good and servicesprovided to particular individuals etc.
 The files covers are Departmental file covers which contain the stamp 'InConfidence' 'File not to be removed from Welfare Branch'.
