System of arrangement and control

As part of an Archival Description rehousing and data entry project in 2008, unserialised accession AA1976/32/1 was converted to consignment A3308/3. The multiple control symbols assigned by the agency have been retained; with set prefixes 1 to 21 imposed by the National Archives in order to reflect the categories present in the Canberra records. There could possibly be additional categories among the Melbourne records.

The 21 categories are:

Relationships with other records

Investigations confirmed that the records held in unserialised accession AA1976/32/1 belonged to series A3308. In 2008, AA1976/32/1 was therefore converted to consignment A3308/3. The integration of these records has filled some of the gaps in series A3308.
