System of Arrangement and Control
All subjects in this series are classified under main headings, which form the activity suffixes, and cover a range of primary classification numbers. The suffixes, descriptions of headings and ranges of primary numbers within each division are given below. It should be noted that some suffixes not listed below may have been used by various agencies.
AIR - administration, organisation , flying and training - 1 to 400
RAD - specialist matters - radio - 401 to 500
ARM - specialist matters - armament - 501 to 600
PH - specialist matters - photography - 601 to 700
P1 - legal and discipline - 701 to 900
P2 - personal services - 901 to 1200
P3 - personnel - 1201 to 1800
MED - medical and dental services - 1801 to 1900
ACCTS - pay and equipment accounting - 1901 to 2500
EQUIP - supply and provisioning - 2101 to 2500
TECH - repair, modification of aircraft, engines etc - 2501 to 3100
W or WKS - barracks, buildings, landing grounds and work services - 3101 to 3300
