Christabel Marguerite Alain Chamarette was chosen by the Parliament of Western Australia on 12 March 1992 under section 15 of the Constitution to represent that state in the Senate, vice J. Vallentine (resigned) with the term expiring on the 30 June 1996.She represents the Greens (WA) party.
Senator Chamarettes' qualifications before entering Federal Parliament was BPsych, MPsych (W Aust) and she held a Certificate of Tropical Community Medicine and Hygiene (Liverpool). She was a Member of a Parliamentary Delegation to the Republic of Korea, Pakistan and Malaysia in June 1992 as well as to the Chemical Weapons Convention, Paris in January 1993.
