Creation
The office of the
Australian Political Representative in Nauru opened in August 1968 by the
acting Political Representative, K Desmond. The Office closed in July 1997. Non-resident
representation was based in Suva. An Australian Post
reopened in Nauru in 2002 as a Consulate-General. The Post was
made a High Commission in August 2009.
