This Agency provides telecommunications sales and services to customers located in the South Australian and Northern Teritory country areas in accordance with Acts of Parliament. The functions have now been taken over by Telecom Australia, Corporate Customer Division (CA 7143) and Consumer Division (CA 7145) from October 1992.
On 1 July 1988 the Australian Telecommunications Commission, State Office, South Australia divided into a number of Business Units. These Business Units reflect the various tasks performed by Telecom Australia and enable each unit to be accountable for its operations.
Country Division is divided into four regions:
1. Regional Head Office.
2. Northern Office.
3. Southern Office.
4. Northern Territory Office.

The Country Division is one of five Customer Divisions that are responsible to the Corporate Centre.
