The Department of Labour and National Service was renamed the Department of Labour on 19 December 1972. At the regional level the Department of Labour, Regional Administration, Western Australia kept the responsibility for;
-general labour, policy
-manpower planning and training
-effective placement of labour
-investigation of labour supply and demand
-industrial relations and employee welfare
-research into labour questions.
The First Regional Director of the Department of Labour, Regional Administration, Western Australia was M.D. Robertson.
The Department of Labour was abolished on the 12 June 1974 and amalgamated with the Department of Immigration to become the
Department of Labour and Immigration.
