The Building Branch was initially located in the Land and Property Division but by Nov. 1968 it had been relocated in the ACT Lands Division, Department of the Interior. The Branch was headed by Mr. L.W. Gairns, Chief Architect. The main functions of the Branch included: building plan approvals and inspections technical
inspections. The Branch was alos responsible for the Canberra Building Review Committee.
