This series contains files mainly consisting of general correspondence and also including copies of transcripts, court proceedings, judgements and other papers relating to prosecutions, recoveries of monies, motor accidents, compensation claims, miscellaneous advisings, acquisition of land and properties and boards of enquiry.  

Included in the series are a number of files related to the Commission of Inquiry into Japanese Atrocities (CA 3866), 1943-1944.  One file, item BL43895/25, titled "Commission of Inquiry into Japanese Forces Atrocities" relates to an inquiry by Sir William Webb, Chief Justice for Queensland into alleged atrocities by Japanese armed forces in New Guinea.
