FUNCTION AND CONTENT
This series consists of a brown visidex folder labelled 'Cabinet Decisions Nos. D1-D132'. Where no submission had been circulated beforehand decisions reached at Cabinet meetings were allocated a single number with a 'D' (decision) prefix. (Decisions reached on matters for which submissions had been prepared are identified by the submission number in the minutes of meetings, CRS A4638). This 'D' number is written at the top of each paper, occasionally with a letter suffix for continuing consideration of a subject.
The volume contains minutes of decisions, occasional detailed records of discussions, copies of memoranda notifying Departments of decisions, and related correspondence. It also contains some background material such as press releases or reports, the kind of material generally attached to submissions where these were prepared.
