Rough booklet 8" x 10" being bound roneoed pages showing codes used for punched cards system (CRTS trainee general index). Book shows index to fields and describes each field (there being 35 fields). Samples of Hollerith cards are contained in book.
 
History Prior/Subsequent to Transfer:
Prior to transfer: When the Hollerith card index was introduced in 1949 it was found necessary to issue instructions for the use of the index in the various fields which it covered. This is the instruction booklet issued by the Department for the guidance of officers.
