Description of series:
Correspondence, signals to Prisoners of War & Information (PW & I) Section, Eastern Command regarding personal details of prisoners.  The files document reports of injuries, medical statements, court of inquiry proceedings, escapes, arrests and trials of prisoners.  Some files contain black and white photographs of the prisoners.

The files have a multiple number system but were transferred in alphabetical order of name of prisoner by the agency.  All the files are still identified by this multiple number system but are arranged alphabetically.

In 2006 Arrangement and description was undertaken and all the records have been entered at item level on Recordsearch.
