This series consists of registered jacketed correspondence files which are arranged with a single number with a 'R & S' (research and statistics) prefix and contain circulars, minutes, memorandums, telegrams, advices and returns etc.  Information on the files include weekly and monthly statistics pertaining to attendance money/hours and wages/leave payments, strikes/stoppages and industial disputes, loading and discharging of cargo, rain loss, dismissal and strength of gangs, rented property review/rent returns/expenditure, registered employers, age group, daily labour positions, port registers and shipping advice.
