History Prior/Subsequent to Transfer:
Prior to transfer: The Office of Official Receiver (Non-Salaried) was created on the adoption of the Bankruptcy function by the
Commonwealth and was carried on simply as an adjunct to a private business. A salaried Official Receiver (Non-Salaried) ceased to handle new cases. On the death of RD Mayne who was the incumbent of the office in 1953, it was decided to abolish the position and all files were transferred to the Official Receiver's Office.
