Description of series:
These are jacketed and registered files containing correspondence of the Engineering Branch (also known as Building Branch) concerning matters such as the acquisition of sites, erection of buildings, alterations and additions to buildings, ancillary services including post offices, telephone exchanges, staff residences, line depots, motor vehicle repair shops, stores and transport depots, and broadcasting stations. The correspondence also covers the leasing of the Commission's (previously the Postmaster-General's Department) premises and property to and from private firms and individuals.
