Description of series:
This accession consists of original drawings produced by the Ship Drawing Office, Garden Island Dockyard, as well as linen and blueprint copies of Navy Office (Melbourne) drawings, and copies of drawings provided by shipbuilders and the Admiralty (UK) which outline the specifications and plans primarily for Royal Australian Navy ships (all of which are now decommissioned), including the following:
a. Aircraft carrier/troop transport HMAS Sydney
b. Battle class destroyers; including HMAS Anzac, HMAS Tobruk
c. River class frigates and Anti submarine frigates; including
   HMAS Barcoo, HMAS Swan, HMAS Yarra, HMAS Gascoyne
d. 'Q' class destroyers; including HMAS Quadrant, HMAS
   Quickmatch, HMAS Queenborough, HMAS Quiberon
e. Landing ships (transport ferries), both Tank (ie LST's) and
   Medium (ie LSM'S)
f. Army vessels, corvettes and ships in reserve etc.
