Description of series:
8"x5" cards used to record the history of all part time trainees under CRTS.
Although large numbers of course are taken through the Office of Education (professional trainees University courses etc.), and Labour and National Service (for training at approved industrial establishments and/or Technical schools) all application s for training have to be forwarded originally to Repatriation Dept. When an application is received a CRTS 3 is made out, to record details of training undertaken showing dates of commencement and/or abandonment, completion, deferment or transfer to full time study. Where training is undertaken through the Administration of Departments other than Repat, reports are forwarded to Repat giving the details required for insertion on the CRTS 3. History cards in other departments show greater details of subjects studied as part of a course but the Repat card serves as a master card giving all the basic information. White card was used for male trainees and a red one for females - this was for statistical purposes only and has no administration significance. All cards have now been married.
In November 2001 accession PT286/1, cards for trainees from 1954 to 1960, was interfiled into this consignment.
