This series comprises 'Personal Statement and Declaration by Alien Passenger' forms (Form A. No. 42). Under Regulation 4 of the Immigration Regulations, the statements were to be furnished to the Customs Boarding Officer, or other authorised Officer, at the first port of call in Australia by every alien passenger arriving from overseas. The completed forms provide the following information about the alien, name of ship on which alien arrived, class travelled, date of arrival, port of landing, surname and christian name, place and date of birth, details of passport or permit, marital status, previous address abroad, previous and intended occupation, personal description, details of relatives in Australia, proposed address in Australia, financial details, and details of training in defence forces. The forms (one per alien) are held in alphabetical order by surname within nationality.
