Function and purpose

The series consists of four floppy discs that contain databases holding basic descriptions of the contents of hundreds of the 16mm films from the Australian National Antarctic Research Expedition (ANARE). The database includes a detailed ‘shot list’ for each film. The database was generated on a software program called ‘Editors Pipe Dream”. A copy of “Editors Pipe dream” carried on floppy disc is also held in the series.

Disposal history

The floppy disks were found to be unreadable and destroyed in July 2019. The information contained on the discs had been extracted in 2009 and has been retained.
