The files may include black and white photographs depicting station life and activities, large maps/charts (folded inside files), handwritten notes and sketches as well as typed reports.
Reports vary in content and detail - some station OICs and expeditioners compiled more thorough reports than others.
Station log books are in diary format recording daily activities over the period of each expedition.
Following the return of each expedition to Australia, the reports and log books are held in the AAD collections prior to transfer to NAA.
The material may be available in a variety of formats including hard copy, microfiche and digital.
A transfer of records for this series was made by the AAD in 2012 and dates from 1957 - 1999.
