The notebooks comprising this series were maintained by Mr Justice Thomas Stuart Clyne from 1939 to 1962. They cover several of his appointments, including with the County Court of Victoria (1939-42), Aliens Tribunal (1941), Victorian Liquor Inquiry (1942), ACT Supreme Court (1942-45), Commission of Inquiry into the First Australia Movement (1944-45) and the Federal Court of Bankruptcy (1943-62). More than half the series (some 30 volumes) relates to the latter Court.
The notebooks concern cases and hearings over which Judge Clyne presided in the various jurisdictions. They carry annotations, all in a rather illegible script. Most of the books measure 8" x 10".
