This series consists of one bound volume giving an account of all monies received and collected by the Chief Postmaster for the District of Port Phillip from January 1846 to August 1857. The entries are in chronological order and include the name of the post town and person from whom the money was received, for what period the money relates to and the total postage for the District of Port Phillip for each year. There is also information regarding the settlement of the collections with the Sub-Treasurer, including when the monies were paid to the Sub-Treasurer, how they were paid eg. cheque or cash and a declaration by the Chief Postmaster stating that all is true and correct.
