This series consists of drawings done by the Army Inventions Directorate (AID) as part of their investigation process into various inventions submitted to it during World War II. The drawings are usually to scale and in pencil, and show the invention or aspects of it, the date drawn, the name of drawer and the initials of the final approver. It is likely that drawings were only made by the AID when an invention was thought to have some merit. The AID also made blueprints of these drawings, which are held in MP100/2. The two series do not duplicate each other entirely.
