Summary heading
Press cuttings
Function and purpose
The press cuttings cover a range of subjects including Sir
John Kerr’s personal and public life, politics and politicians,
Governors-General and industrial disputes.
The cuttings
have been taken largely from Australian daily newspapers but regional and
overseas newspapers are represented, as are articles from some weekly journals
and magazines. Much of this material appears to have been used
by Sir John Kerr as source material for his book 'Matters for Judgment' and his
manuscript 'Triumph of the Constitution'.
Maintenance of the series was continued by Lady Anne Kerr
after Sir John Kerr’s death in March 1991.
Physical characteristics
Two volumes are leather bound. Of the other 17 items, a
number are in the form of scrapbooks while the others are bundles of clippings
in folders.

Australia.
