This series consists of a green fabric covered album containing photographs of activities at Cockatoo Island Dockyard. Only two photographs are dated: 28 March 1935 and 28 March 1936. Each buff coloured page contains a single large photograph, with a hand printed black ink label underneath. The inside front cover is labeled: "Cockatoo Docks and Engineering Co Ltd, Cockatoo Island, Sydney".
The photographs, taken by Alan Evans, depict heavy machinery and ships at sea, under construction, entering dock and being launched, as well as aerial views of the island. Individual vessels depicted include a 10,000 ton cruiser, RMS CATHAY, HMAS YARRA, the 125 ton floating crane [TITAN], SS IRON MONARCH, HMAS SWAN and RMS AORANGI.
This series contains audiovisual formats. As audiovisual formats are either redundant or susceptible to deterioration, some items in this series have been copied to ensure their preservation.
