Series note

Paul Hasluck was appointed Counsellor to Australia's Mission to the United Nations Organisation in March, 1946. He ceased duty with the Mission in April, 1947.

The items in this series largely relate to the period he was in New York as Counsellor. They cover subjects such as the permanent headquarters for the United Nations, the organisation of the Mission, and Paul Hasluck's resignation from the Department.

The items contain correspondence, minutes and agenda papers, briefing notes, cables, invitations, speeches and publications. Many documents are classified.
