This series consists of seven volumes of newspaper clippings relating to J A Beasley's career as a unionist, politician and diplomat (1925-49), although there are no clippings for the period 1930-43. The first volume relates to his early political career, while the later ones cover his time as Minister for Supply and Development (later Supply and Shipping) during World War II, and as Australian High Commissioner to London (1946-49). Two volumes are devoted to his role as Australian Delegate to the International Labour Organizations Conference in Philadelphia in 1944. The sixth volume contains clippings relating to the death of His Majesty King George V and the accession of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II in 1952. As Beasley died in 1946, these clippings were presumably added to the series by a member of his family. The last volume contains obituaries. The clippings are from Australian, American and British newspapers and are generally in chronological order.
