These five two-ring folders were maintained during J M (Malcolm) Fraser's second term as Minister for Education and Science (1971-72). Four of the folders relate directly to the portfolio and cover education statistics, correspondence with the Secretary of the Department of Education and Science, Ministerial mail and air travel arrangements (items 1-4). The remaining folder concerns a visit Fraser made to the electorate of Forrest (Western Australia) in February 1972 (item 5).
The records were transferred to archival custody in March 1983 and initially controlled as Accession AA1983/673. They were converted to M1361 in November the same year. The series registration was revised as part of the Prime Ministers Papers Project in June 2005. One item in the series (item 4) was transferred to the custody of the University of Melbourne Archives on 7 December 2006.
