Items medium note

Form (P1) entitled "Passenger List - Outgoing Passengers" is prepared by the Master of each ship departing the port and shows the name of the ship and other relevant details, including the particulars of the voyage such as port of departure, date of departure, destination, and lists the passengers embarked for the voyage and shows details of name, age, sex, marital status,occupation, nationality, etc.

The use of this form was discontinued in 1964. Location of other documents in the series is unknown.

This series is a conversion of former Accession BP 52 series 2. A portion of this consignment has been itemised on Recordsearch and covers the date range 1859 to 1930. Records post 1930 are not on Recordsearch at item level and will need to be identified by date.

Not all passenger lists within this consignment contain passenger details.

J716 P1 - A portion of this series is on Recordsearch at item level (Boxes 1 to 35 covering the period 1859 - 1930) as per item list.

There is no item level consignment list covering the period 1931 to 1964 (Boxes 36 - 69) therefore the boxes have been itemised on Recordsearch at box level only. If individual passenger lists are requested within these boxes a new item level entry should be created on Recordsearch.
