This series consists of files relating to the administration and functioning of the agency. The files contain general correspondence, circulars, instructions, press clippings, reports, returns, etc. and deal mainly with surface transport activities particularly with respect to shipping, crew qualifications, coastal navigation, hazards, maritime incidents, lighthousing and lightkeeping facilities. Later files include references to road transport matters, acts and regulations.
The series was discontinued in 1995 when the agency converted their registries to the TRIM computer system.
