This series contains 10504 envelopes of photographic negatives on both glass plate and film (acetate, black and white, colour). The negatives were transferred to Australian Archives by Rod Loder of Telecom's reprographic section thus the title [The Loder Collection]. Within the series there are 1350 envelopes 25x18cm of both glass plate and film for the period 1887 to 1950 and 9154 envelopes 14x11cm of film only for the period 1950 to 1991. The negatives show post office sites, telephone exchange sites, technical equipment, telegraph poles and also unidentified sites.A number of negatives were later identified as nitrate with a range of 28 to 629 (with gaps) and were sent to the NSW State Library for copying on 12/6/1996. Another group of nitrate negatives with a range of 594 to 1841 were sent to Mitchell for copying on 19/12/96. Another 105 glass plate negatives numbered 10505 to 10609 were transferred in May 1997. DESTRUCTION
Series/Consignment J2364/4, 9, 14, 19 and 23 were destroyed on 23 August 2017.
