This series consists of black and white aerial photographs taken for the survey of the Tarcoola to Alice Springs Railway.  This particular group of photographs cover named geographic locations along the line and are arranged within numbered aircraft 'runs' within each of those locations.  A more recent set of aerial photographs of the line taken in the 1970's is contained in a related record series (D5271).
