The suffixes L, R, V indicate if photographs were taken from left wing of aircraft, right wing of aircraft or vertical (possibly mounted under the fuselage of the aircraft).
It appears that the aerial photographs are part of a larger series undertaken by the RAAF on behalf of the Long Range Weapons Establishment at Salisbury at the time.
