This series contains index cards relating to internees detained in the Loveday Internment Camp that was situated outside of Barmera in South Australia during World War II. The index cards are arranged in alphabetical order by surname and records information on a particular internee which may include: their name, POW (Prisoner Of War) number, security service dossier number, alien registration certificate number, nationality, marital status, occupation, date of entry into Australia and personal description. The index cards were originally created as a control index for the interment records held in series D1901 however as the internees were released from detainment the administrative practice by the agency was to remove the index cards from the control index and place them on individuals internment file. National Archives removed the index cards from the interment files held in custody to reconstruct the original control index therefore the current control index is not complete.
