PAPER FILES AND DOCUMENTS
Series note
This series comprises lists of ships crews who visited Port Adelaide and outports.

The series basically comprises Form M + S 11(attachment) and supporting documentation. Currently documents are arranged in chronological order in calendar year blocks.

Information contained in these documents includes names, dates and places of birth, nationlities, some information regarding desertions, restricted crew members on board, crew changes, last and next port of call for ship, animal and birds on board.

Access and Information Services section of the Australian Archives uses crew lists extensively. Therefore Australian Archives requires that these records be retained permanently ( Archives Act,Section 24 (1)). In June 1991 a number of series were converted from "AP" to D3064. The conversion number from PCS is 1045 and the series involved are: AP214/2, AP201/1, AP671/2, AP969/5, and AP1174/4.
