This series consists of 49 bound volumes containing daily details of local weather and remarks on operational activities and events at the station signed by the keeper on duty. For the period 1853 to 1917 and 1923 to 1925 daily comments on sea conditions are also included. Not all the logbooks are extant. Notably the volumes for the following periods are missing:

09 Mar 1897 to 16 Oct 1898
18 Apr 1920 to 05 May 1921
16 May 1922 to 25 May 1922

The logbooks are fragile and suffer the following:
Mould, fading ink, loose pages, spine and cover damage.

D26 was relocated from South Australia to the ACT In September 2021.
